Beyond Boudoir: Capturing Confidence & Authenticity - Chicago Illinois.
There’s something truly powerful about stepping in front of the camera—not just to be seen, but to see yourself in a new way.
Recently, I had the honor of photographing a boudoir session for a local midwife and friend, and it was more than just a photoshoot. It was a transformation.
When we first started talking about the session, we focused on her definition of beauty and confidence. What does feeling sexy mean to her, outside of what society tells us? We curated a vision that felt authentic, comfortable, and deeply personal—because boudoir isn’t about fitting into a mold. It’s about embracing who you are, as you are.
I approach boudoir as more than just a photoshoot—it’s an art form, a collaboration, and a moment of true presence. It’s not about posing or performing; however, I will guide you through every step of the way. My focus is on creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to let go, to breathe, to exist without expectation. And in that space—in the quiet confidence, the laughter, the unguarded stillness—that’s where the magic happens. That’s what I see. That’s what I capture. A reflection of you, in your most honest and beautiful form.
It's not about poses or flashy outfits; It’s about being.
After the session, she sent me a message that encapsulated everything I strive for in my work:
"I just wanted to say that when I was driving home I wasn't obsessing about how I looked, because all I could think about was how much I laughed and enjoyed being silly and playful - which was exactly what I needed in that moment to feel comfortable."
And this is why I do what I do. A session like this isn’t just about the photos—it’s about the feeling you carry long after the shoot is over. Every person deserves to see themselves in a way that makes them feel empowered, confident, and celebrated.
Whether you want to go all out or keep it more modest, I tailor each session to fit your comfort level and personal style. If you’ve ever thought about doing a boudoir session but felt hesitant—let’s talk. I promise, this experience is for you, about you.
And you just might fall in love with the way you see yourself.
"I can't recommend it enough...im not someone who likes to be in front of the camera but Maggie picked up on exactly what I needed and made me feel so relaxed and i’m not kidding when I say it was transformative for me. I came out a different person on the other side of it. It's hard to explain... I'm sure, just like birth, each experience shows us exactly what we needed to learn and know about ourselves. I hope you do it when the time is right." -Seong
